The 5th Week is a free participation organization whos only requirement is that the member must have participated in a compressed format college education program, like University of Phoenix, National University, Southeastern University. The first draft of this site is centered on the Las Vegas chapter organization. As the organization grows we will add other regions and states to the site, creating a single point from which to freely associate and engage in dialogue and face to face community activities. Current logos contain Nevada, Arizona, California; however, they have not been published here. 
The Beginnings
The 5th Week began as a group of students in a Gen/300 class at UOP in Las Vegas. One learning team (in 2005)had started their team assignments with true dedication to the principles of meeting regularly (usually over coffee and free WiFi). Over the next five weeks the group decided that there should be some kind of departure meeting to wrap the whole experience up. Of the 6 members of the team two showed up at the meeting. Not a bad start actually.
The first meeting was at Buffalo Wild wings in Henderson on Mall Ring Circle. (note the flying horns in the logo) Over a couple baskets of wings, a Labatt and New Castle it was decided that this should be a regular stop.
Over the next 18 months there were as few as 2 and as many as 10 that attended, even an instructor once graced us with his presence (If you're reading this you know who you are so drop me a line and we will invite you again).
Over all it has been a great tradition that we started and now we want to offer all of you the same opportunity to add a little life to your educational routine. |

Groups have met at Buffalo Wild Wings, PF Changs, Applebees, and Pannera Bread. You could meet anywhere, but our group has remained true to the hot wings and beer.
